At last, my friend comes from Japan tomorrow! I can’t wait to see her.
I made a sightseeing plan for her. I’m ready!
After we go around D.C for 2 days, we are going to NYC which I love!
I will look for my favorite things there again.

Let's speak!
Today, I attended a conversation club at a library.
This session is that the people of different countries and the American volunteers have a discussion together. Everyone can attend this.
Participants split into two groups.
Members of my group were three volunteers, three French women and me.
We talked about each culture of own country.
By the way, an American woman talked Japanese to my friends and me at a metro yesterday.
She may be a beginner in Japanese, but she attempted to speak Japanese which she knows.
I admire her!! What a great spirit!
So, today, I made positive efforts to speak English than usual.
As a result, I had fun so much!!
I will speak English as much as possible now and remind myself "Don’t be shy!".

The First Challenge ～Beauty Salon～
At last, I went to a beauty salon in U.S for the first time!
Before going there, I was worried because, of course there weren’t anyone who can speak Japanese...
So, I brought a picture as sample. (^^;)
As a result, I like a short new brown hair!
The stylist caught up my request because though she may be native, she looks like the Asian, and she is a fancy young lady.
My first challenge was successful!!

Ladies Talk
After school, I met Japanese friends in Bethesda.
There are lots of open air cafes beside the street in this town like Paris, so Bethesda is one of my favorite towns!
We found a fancy cafe CAFE DELUXE.
I wanna have dinner next time♪
"Here's to us!"
I felt like a Parisienne and ordered a cup of white wine. (*^^*)
We were relaxing and talking about shopping, travel, English, what we want to do and so on.
Actually we have a lot of things that we don’t know in expatriate life, so we need to have a communication.

Apartment Event ～The second～
Recently, The second event of apartment was held, and many residents participated in the event.
It was called ”Summer Pool party”.
I think that it is for opening a pool. (^^)/
In the evening, I listened to Mariachi music♪ and enjoyed scrumptious Spanish cuisine.
All right!!
we proceeded to have all the free Corona, and were excited at talking with neighbors. (*^^*)
A most talented tarot card reader came here...
A woman was looking into the future with her.
Everything was interesting!
I had a fantastic time!!

Golf
I started golf last week!
I will practice it in the driving range because I'm beginner. (＾＾;)
I went to Falls Road Golf Course where it takes 20 minutes by car from my house.
The range is a part of the golf course, so it’s so spacious!
I felt comfortable and enjoyed though I wasn’t good at golf.
On the way home, I bought a cap and glove!

I'm going to leave for West Coast！
It’s before daylight now!
I take a vacation for a week and I'm going to travel to West Coast from today.
Also, I’m fine now because I had got enough rest yesterday!!
When I come back here, I will write my travels.

The First Sickness
I am having a cold from Monday.
On last Monday, I came home from school earlier than as usual.
Because I came down with a disease and got 39 degrees Celsius fever for the first time in many years.
So, I was absent for 3days.
While I was coming down with a high fever, my neighbor brought fruit and healthy drink, moreover my husband’s fellows gave me medicine and nutrition. Also my husband cooked meals for me.
Thanks for their tenderness and support!!! I’m moved…(T_T)
I wanted to recover as soon as possible.
The reason why I need to recover from my cold soon is because we are going to travel to the West Coast tomorrow!
Today, I’m recovering, but I will rest at home..(-_-) zzz

Apartment Event
It seems that our apartment manager often take place events for residents.
The other day, a brunch party was held in there.
The food was mainly omelette and bread served byThe Omelette Chefs.
A chef cooked for each of us in the reception room and we had with residents in the courtyard!
By the way, I worked in a real estate company in Japan.
Maybe I think that in Japan, events like this are never held in rental apartment.
Because most of the management companies never want residents to get along with each other.
They are afraid that any trouble may happen if residents can have communication.
So I’m surprised at this event!
It was fine day!
We had a good brunch♪

Worry
Today, I was invited potluck party, but I couldn’t go to there.
Because my husband catches a cold and he has a fever.
I’m worried...(; 。;)
So I went to buy some cold medicine, an ice maker, and foods.
Of course, he was in bed, so I drove a car by myself.
(I have decided that I will not drive a car again, but there was no choice…)
As it was fair weather, I could drive a car in safety.
And then, I cooked "tamago zosui" saying egg rice porridge.
He was satisfied to eat it, so I was a little relieved.
I hope that he rallies from his illness.

I was nervous, because of course, there were many American in this party.
But I ate a lot of foods and had a good wine, and I relaxed.
This party was buffet-style, so there were many foods.
Smoked salmon was best taste in the foods.
I had mealtimes pleasant with conversation.
But with Japanese only…
I should study English more!
I spent so valuable time.

渡米早々・・
今回は日本語で。
アウトレットの帰り道、練習を兼ね、私が運転することにしました。
Highwayだったので、ひたすらまっすぐ走ればよいよね～なんて
気楽な気持ちで走り始めました。
しかしHighway暗い！そしてみんな早い！
よく見えない状態でびくびくしながら運転していました。
と、前方にパトカーが数台止まってるじゃないですか？！
別になにも悪いことしてないのに、
何何？！？？
私はパニクり、急に車線変更。
すると後方からパトカーがWuWuu―
サイレンを鳴らしてこっちに向かってきました！
えっ！！わたし～？！
とりあえず路肩に止めて、ハンドルを握り締めてました・・・
すると、ポリスさんが窓をドンドンドン！
開けるとすごい勢いで、何か言ってます。
私は勢いに圧倒されまたパニクり、結局主人が対応、なんとか許してもらえました。

Today, I got a gift from one of my six best friends "namico”by EMS.
The gift is an album made by my six best friends!
I have friendship with them from college days.
We often had a party in Japan.
And they gave me a good-bye party before I leave for DC.
